copper straps are unnecessary when using Eilersen load cells

Did you know that copper straps are unnecessary when using Eilersen load cells?

For strain gage load cells, the sensor is glued to the steel body making it sensitive to even rather low voltage differences between the strain gage and the load cell body. The copper straps protect the strain gage load cell from stray voltages.

As the measuring system in our capacitive load cells performs the measurements of the load without any contact between the patented sensor and the stainless steel body carrying the load, the copper straps are rendered unnecessary.

The lack of contact between the capacitive sensor and the load cell body means that our load cells can sustain overloads of up to 10 times the rated load capacity and high voltage transients of more than 500V.
